Breckenridge Ski Country
Breckenridge: A Growing Real Estate Market
Breckenridge, one of Colorado’s premier ski town and resort, is flocked by tourists, skiers, and sightseers all year round. Official residents of the town number only to over two thousand but the crowd that visits it reaches over 1.6 million yearly. But then again, what’s not to love about Breckenridge?
The alpine snow, the challenging ski terrain, the picturesque scenery, the urban shopping district, and the myriad of activities one can still do even without the snow – all these and more make Breckenridge an instant hit with out-of-state visitors and international travelers.
Some love Breckenridge Country
so much that they simply decide to make Breckenridge their second hometown. As a matter of fact, among the real estate owners there, only about 10% are actual residents in the area. The rest are second home owners who just visit from time to time, and business investors who see the limitless potentials in owning real estate property in this booming ski town. But what really makes Breckenridge such a wonderful place to come to, have fun in, and perhaps even settle in for the long haul? Here are some reasons why the Breckenridge real estate market is still on the upturn even when many parts of the country are going in the opposite direction.
Reasonable prices:
The real estate market in Breckenridge is currently at a state where good properties can still be had for a lot less cost than those at Vail, Aspen and Beaver Creek. Breckenridge has maintained its world-class appeal without necessarily making it a community solely for the elite. And with the prices of properties still slowly on the rise, real estate agents and developers are calling Breckenridge a “buyer’s market.”
Breckenridge is an ideal getaway
for a short break on weekends or even midweek. The Denver International Airport is a common stopover and destination of most international air carriers. With the availability of car rental services, it would then be an easy drive from the airport to Breckenridge so one need not spend tons of time getting there. The Colorado Mountain Express has also been a most reliable mode of transportation in the Rockies for years now.
Year round activities:
Breckenridge is just bustling with activity even off season. Summer activities like taking on the numerous hiking trails, biking, trying one’s hand at fly fishing, backpacking, and camping are getting to be almost as popular as any of the snow sports that Colorado counties are generally known for. Plus, the change of scenery reflecting the vivid colors of summer is another reason why Breckenridge is as much a pleasure in summer as during the cold season.
Winter activities include skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and ice skating among others. A unique and interesting experience to try out while vacationing there is the Nordic Sleigh Tour which is basically a fun run around the area in a horse drawn carriage.
