Breckenridge Ski Resort
Have Fun At the Breckenridge Ski Resort
Breckenridge CO is one of those few skiing resorts that pay attention to the needs of every single visitor – even the little ones. Most skiing resorts pride themselves with top-of-the-line facilities, luxurious amenities, gourmet food, and fun-filled activities.
However, most of them are targeted towards a mature clientele. How about those traveling with their families? How about your kids? A resort that gives importance to your kids doesn’t just put up places where you can leave them. These places should also allow them to enjoy their stay. If your kids will enjoy, then you’ll all go back home looking forward to returning there the next winter. Breckenridge CO has made it sure this is so.
Ski Schools:
Since this is a skiing resort, it would be appropriate that the kids also have their own wonderful skiing experience. As such, Breck has put up three main Ski Schools that focus on teaching your children not only the basics of skiing but also a deep appreciation and love of the sport. These schools are namely the Peak 8 Children’s Program, Beaver Run Children’s Program, and the Village Children’s Program.
The Peak 8 and Village Children’s Centers accommodate 3-6 year olds as well as 7-12 year olds, while the one in Beaver Run only accepts 7-12 year olds. All centers have lead teachers who are well trained in first aid administration and CPR. Therefore, you can breathe comfortably knowing that your kids are in good hands.
For as long as your kid doesn’t have any known allergies, you don’t have to pack them a lunch or a snack since the centers provide these themselves. To foster interaction among the kids, they are grouped according to their age levels. That way, they would feel comfortable with the other kids left along with them.
Other Activities:
Aside from skiing, this ski resort also offers the following family activities to complete your little ones’ wonderful winter fantasies.
Dinner Sleigh Rides – Bask in the shimmering splendor of the starlit sky when you lie on your back on a horse-drawn sleigh.
Fly Fishing – In these parts, you get to fish all year round. That’s right, even during the cold months you can reel in a winter trout in the midst of a scenic Western river.
Hot Air Ballooning – This is a must-try, although not available during winter. Treat your kids to the ultimate outdoor activity as they feast on a spectacular bird’s eye view of the Rocky Mountains.
Hut Trips – Take a plunge into Western history when you walk into each hut. They are scattered all over the Colorado backcountry and each hut has its own unique story to tell.
Ice Skating – Stephen C West Arena in Breckenridge CO is open year-round to serve you and your family.
Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing – Just want to explore the mountainside? You can either comb the slopes faster by Nordic skiing or simply walk leisurely by snowshoeing.
Ski Racing – Bring out the competitive spirit in your family when you compete among yourselves on the 900-ft NASTAR Race Course.
Sledding – There’s only one sledding spot in Breckenridge CO and that’s Carter Park. Head on here as you let your kids enjoy on a sled with their friends.
Snow Mobile and Dogsled Tours – This is the best way to explore the historical mining sites around town. These are all guided trips so you can really appreciate the rich history of these sites.
With all these exciting activities, your kids will forever mark this trip as the most unforgettable of all. Breckenridge CO, after all, is not known to be a child friendly resort for nothing.
